The Softer Voice Inside

Sometimes, when life feels unbearably heavy,
we begin to notice something quieter within us.
Not a thought, not even a clear memory,
but a voice softer than the weight we carry.
It doesn’t argue.
It doesn’t demand.
It simply waits, small, tender,
like someone who has always been here,
but was never sure we would stop long enough to listen.
That voice is the little one within.
The part of us that feels more fragile,
more easily overlooked,
yet holds truths the world often silences.
Hearing her isn’t easy.
It takes courage to pause,
to soften enough that her presence is not drowned by noise.
But once we do,
we remember:
the work is not about finding her!
it’s about keeping her safe when she arrives.
